Proceeds from the 2023 Emerald Coast Duck Regatta benefit the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild, a 501C3 organization, located at 7800 U.S. Hwy 98 West, Miramar Beach FL 32550, hereafter referred to as the Guild.
Approximately 3,000 rubber ducks will be entered in the race. Ducks will race in the Lagoon at the Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin, FL 32550, on Saturday June 17, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Please retain this certificate as proof of purchase.
A number will be printed on each duck corresponding to the number on the duck adoption certificate. Ducks will remain the property of the Guild. The adopters’ chance of winning the Emerald Coast Duck Regatta is dependent on the total number of ducks entered in the race.
To ensure that the ducks follow the pre-established course the Guild reserves the right to manually maneuver the ducks. The first qualifying ducks that are gathered in the duck trap at the end of the race course will be declared winners. Prizes will be awarded to the person indicated on the duck adoption certificate. If the winning adopter is less than 18 years old, the prize will be awarded to the child’s parent or legal guardian. A minimum $10 donation is requested to adopt a duck.
No purchase is necessary; however, free adoption certificates defeat the purpose of the event. Any person may receive one free adoption certificate by requesting a certificate in person at our event headquarters located at 7800 HWY 98 W, Miramar Beach, FL 32550, between May 1, 2023 and June 6, 2023, on any Monday or Tuesday, between 10 am and 2 pm.
Duck Adopters need not be present to win. Winners not present at the event will be notified by June 19, 2023. A race winner needs to claim his or her prize by June 23, 2023.
Event attendees and prize winners consent to the promotional use of their names and likenesses. Your duck adoption donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by IRS law. Winners of a prize with a value of $600 or more must provide a valid Social Security number and a completed IRS form W-9 before receiving their prize.
No refund will be made in the event of cancellation due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event the Duck Regatta cannot be held as scheduled on June 17, 2023, an opportunity drawing will be held to determine the prize winners. This opportunity drawing will be held as quickly as possible, within one week of the June 17, 2023 event date. The date and time of the opportunity drawing will be posted on the event website.
The Guild Board of Directors and Emerald Coast Duck Regatta committee members are not eligible to receive prizes.
